What I know for Sure

A while back I read Oprah’s little book ‘What I know for sure’; an exquisite compilation of her life’s discoveries. As I read it, it struck me that I could have written this book. Seriously! The words she was using, the experiences she was describing and revelations she was having... they were MINE!

The similarities were staggering and probably based on the fact that Oprah and I share childhood experiences as well as the path we’ve taken to explore and understand ourselves and others. This journey had us learning from teachers such as Wayne Dyer, Deepak Chopra, Tony Robbins, Eckhart Tolle and many, many others.

So today, I’d like to share with you What I Know For Sure since it dawned on me that I’ve never shared my point of view based on my 35+ year journey dedicated to my personal development for the purpose of redefining my own years of struggles.

After THOUSANDS of... tears cried, hours devoted to seminars and books, hundred of thousands of dollars invested in learning and encountered individuals from all walks of life, I believe that …

1. We are here to work past our fear-based ego in order to reconnect with our soul.

Your immortal, infinitely beautiful and universally (God) connected soul, was breathed into your body with all the dreams and intentions of what life was to be, along with everything you needed to make it so.

However, as the child in you began to experience life’s pain without the ability to understand it, the ego began to form as a protective layer. For example; if as a child you were tender and your tenderness was met with harshness and created pain, your brain would conclude that ‘tenderness’ is not safe and a hardened part of you would be formed as your protector.

Little by little, with each initial pain you experienced, without the right environment to process and understand it, a hard-wired response was formed along with a protective (EGO) to keep you from further pain. Over the years, your authentic-self (soul) got lost; buried under this process of accumulated pieces of iron that ultimately resulted in the full armor of protection you carry against a false sense of danger.

2. LOVE IS THE ANSWER! As you explore and begin to know your Ego and learn to love it for how it intended to serve you, IT will begin to soften and allow your soul to peek through. As you continue to apply your love inwardly it will begin to expand outside of you allowing you to begin experiencing your life as you were MEANT to; free from your protective armor and reflecting the dreams and intentions you brought with you and the love required to fulfill them.

This is my story. A story of personal growth. This is what’s possible. This is what I teach you to do.
